If you come from traditional investing (mutual funds, ETFs, stocks) and you are evaluating an automated trading strategy, this FAQ will help you understand what InverMind is, what it is NOT, and what you should know before purchasing.
The most important thing first: InverMind is NOT an investment fund, asset manager, financial advisor, or broker. We are a provider of automated trading software that runs in your own NinjaTrader account, with your own capital. We do not manage third-party money. We do not promise returns. We have no access to your account or your capital.
No. InverMind is automated trading software for the NinjaTrader 8 platform. You purchase a license for the software, install it in YOUR NinjaTrader account, and the strategy operates automatically in YOUR account with YOUR capital when you activate it.
We are not an asset manager, we are not regulated as an investment services entity, and we do not have a license to manage third-party capital. We do not need one, because we do not manage third-party capital: you trade your own money with your own software.
We cannot give you an expected return figure. Doing so would be misleading marketing and would also require qualifications as a financial advisor that we do not have.
What we can show you are historical results, clearly differentiated between:
You can review them at ORB Results and Trend Flow Results. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Your risk is the capital you commit to your trading account. Futures are leveraged products and carry the risk of total loss or even loss greater than the deposited capital.
For reference, maximum historical drawdowns (worst cumulative losing streak) in backtest were:
These are historical figures under specific market conditions. Future drawdowns could be larger. Before trading please read our Risk Disclosures page in detail.
It depends on the strategy and the number of contracts you want to trade. As a general reference:
Trading at the technical minimum is possible but psychologically tough: a 78% drawdown on $2,500 is the same money as a 20% drawdown on $10,000, but the emotional pressure is completely different.
Yes. We recommend having basic knowledge of:
It is not necessary to know programming or to understand the strategy code. But you must understand what the software is doing and why.
You do. The strategy is software that runs inside YOUR NinjaTrader 8 installation, connected to YOUR broker account. When you activate it on a chart, the strategy trades automatically. When you deactivate it, it stops trading. You have full control at all times.
We do not operate your account. We do not have access to your account. We do not see your capital. We cannot send orders for you.
No, never. The strategy is a software file that you install in your own NinjaTrader. There is no connection between us and your account. We do not have your credentials. We have no visibility over your trades or balance.
We also do not have access to your personal data beyond the email you provide us when purchasing (for invoicing and activating the software license).
You can deactivate the strategy at any moment from your NinjaTrader. It is one click. Once deactivated, no further orders will be sent.
Already open positions can be closed manually from the platform, or you can let the strategy close them with its own internal rules (stop loss, take profit, etc.).
If a losing streak makes you uncomfortable, the right thing is to stop and evaluate calmly, not double down.
For several reasons:
The only honest thing we can do is show you auditable historical results and let you decide.
Selling automated trading software is completely legal. What requires regulatory licensing is managing third-party capital or providing individual investment advice - activities that we do NOT carry out.
On your side as a customer:
We are not tax advisors: consult a qualified tax advisor for your specific situation.
Email us and we will respond within 24 hours. We resolve your questions before purchase with no commitment.
Send us an emailRisk Disclosure: Trading futures and forex involves substantial risk and is not suitable for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading, and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Hypothetical Performance Disclosure: Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
